Why Dinner and a Movie Fall Short
Dinner puts you across a table with nothing to look at but each other. A movie puts you side by side with nothing to say. Both put the whole weight of the evening on conversation you have to generate yourselves.
Two hours, six pours, three stories. A date with something to talk about.
Better than dinner and a movie, for one specific reason
WHY IT WORKS
A tasting, a story, a place you step into.
This is not a bar stop. It's a guided tasting inside The Obscure, built like a chaptered night out. Choose a Season and follow six pours and three stories as the space shifts around you.
Three spirits. Three cocktails. One progression.
A live artist. A new piece. Sometimes yours by the end of the night.

FIRST DATE OR THE FOUR HUNDREDTH
On a first date you are not trapped — the night has a shape and an end, so if it is going badly nobody has to invent an excuse, and if it is going well you are two hours in with plenty left to say. For a couple who have been together years it is the antidote to the same four restaurants: you will both learn something, both have an opinion, and both leave with a version of the night to argue about on the way home.
Simple to book. Easy to follow. Hard to explain.
Start by choosing a Season. From there, the night runs on a simple rhythm: check in, take your seat, and follow the pours where they lead.
The Story So Far
Choose your path. Claim your seat. Cross the threshold.
SEASON 1
A secret sanctuary opens. A gin from a Black Death recipe. A brandy made of memory. A rye that questions itself. Six reasons to come out of hiding.
SEASON 2
The hidden realm expands. Rum traced to 1519. The first American Chestnut whiskey in a century. A liqueur that changes color in the glass. The threshold opens again.
SEASON 3
The wheel turns. A rum smuggled into a revolution. A Scotch from an alternate timeline. A vodka rewriting its category. Taste for adventure has a new flavor.
Arrival & Check-In
The night starts at the threshold. Arrive a few minutes early, check in with our team, confirm your booking and ID (21+). Your spirit guide will take it from there.
The Guided Tasting
Three house-distilled spirits. Three original cocktails.
A story you'll be telling for years.
